Bruins Take Game 7, Win Stanley Cup
Boston Defeats Vancouver 4-0 to Claim Championship
The Boston Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 in Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night to win the franchise's first championship since 1972.
Milan Lucic scored two goals for the Bruins, while Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each added one. Tim Thomas made 37 saves for the shutout.
The Bruins were dominant from start to finish, outshooting the Canucks 37-21 and controlling the puck for much of the game.
It was a disappointing end to the season for the Canucks, who were looking to win their first Stanley Cup since 1915.
