Toni Kroos Returns to International Football

Midfielder makes U-turn on retirement decision

Kroos aims to help Germany win Euro 2024

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has announced his return to international football, reversing his decision to retire from the Germany national team following the 2021 European Championship.

Kroos, 34, made the announcement on Twitter, saying that he had been persuaded to return by new Germany manager Hansi Flick. "I'm happy to be back," Kroos wrote. "I've always said that I'm available for the national team if I'm needed, and I'm happy to help the team achieve its goals."

Kroos retired from international football after Germany's disappointing performance at Euro 2021, in which they were eliminated in the round of 16 by England. However, he has since been convinced to return by Flick, who has a good relationship with the player.

Kroos is expected to play a key role for Germany at Euro 2024, which they will host. He is one of the most experienced players in the squad and will be looking to help the team win their first major trophy since the 2014 World Cup.
